surprisingly decent first nyc apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
there’s an elevator, the building is kept clean and well maintained, walls are well insulated (i rarely EVER heard noise from other apartments)
Cons:
management was either super prompt (coming same day i made a ticket to investigate a banging noise in wall, this was resolved it was nothing) or pretty unreachable (didn’t come fix my heating unit for a week). i was always confused on who to contact for what since there’s two main guys who run the property and they would each tell me to call the other one, so stick to doing management requests online. the street noise can be a bit much as linden blvd is a popular truck route.
Advice to owner:
the basement and roof are extremely underutilized because i don’t think the spaces are well furnished to actually be used

Don’t move into this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The pool table in the lounge but they don’t clean the sofa probably has bed bugs
Cons:
The area is bad most of the tenant having domestic violence cases beating their wives to the point they have to run outside while being chased and beat to death outside . The cops are familiar with this building already . The area is bad it’s an ambulance department across the street so you hear sirens every single day . The tenant are really violent individuals especially the new tenants The landlord is the worst the company never answers the calls the laundry units is broken because he wants to save money the washer won’t drain the water out of the clothes plus they cut the water so the clothes don’t get washed properly the hot water disabled the dryer is broken as well . Don’t rent a one bedroom there it’s a studio squeezed into a 1 bedroom to overcharge the tenants . The kitchen is right in the living room can’t even set up a tv and stuff . There are no closets in the apartment only kitchen compartments . My light bulb was never changed after many complaints , I tried to cancel my lease they refused until I stopped paying now they want to terminate the lease . It was a time where they’ve cut the hot water for almost a week and after it came back it was yellow for a few days . They charge 1900$ for a one bedroom with no closets because they claim you get a free months. I have so much to say about them but don’t make a mistake to move in . You would be stressed out . For the parking the tenants want to fight because there are no parking in the area in case you have a car don’t do this to yourself other tenants spit throw cigarettes to damage other tenant cars . This building is a total chaos really ghetto ,don’t move into this building it’s more to it but I’m going to stop here .
