Decently managed apartment.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location near the train station. Good appliances
Cons:
Management is responsive, but not effective. Walls are thin so you hear a lot of inside noise.

New building, poorly maintained (bad pests and loud neighbors)
Former Tenant
Pros:
There is a shared washer/dryer in the building, the water pressure is good, and the location is very close to the 2/5 trains. Management is relatively responsive via email.
Cons:
This building has a huge roach problem, within units and in common areas. Management is doing nothing to manage the issue. Furthermore, the poorly maintained common areas exacerbate the problem. There is a build up of food, strange stains and both wet and dried down liquids in the first floor corridor and the stairwell. They are rarely cleaned and even when cleaned, the stains dried up food persists. As such, the roach problem persists. Twice this year, there have been huge leaks of what looked and smelled like fecal matter coming out of a door on the first floor. The smell was absolutely disgusting and persisted for a few days before being cleaned. The first time it happened, neighbors had to mop common area floors themselves to help get rid of the smell.

When I moved into my unit, the apartment was clean on the surface but upon further inspection, I found dried food on the floor and stains in the refrigerator and drawers which again, speaks to the poor maintenance from management, carelessness of the owner, and the root of roach problems. I had not had these issues in my previous, older building, it was very well maintained and cleaned weekly. This is such a huge disappointment from a new building charging a premium for rent. Tenants deserve better, new renters beware.

Neighbors are quite loud at all hours of the night and the walls and floors are quite thin (I can hear my neighbor’s children running up and down and can hear people snoring through the wall at night). Neighbors also yell and scream at each other daily throughout the day and create banging noises at as late as 11pm at night on weeknights. Management has sent out emails about the noise but nothing has changed. I’ve also heard people report packages going missing more than once. If this was a once in a while occurrence it wouldn’t be an issue, but it is daily.

The street also gets loud at night (usually until midnight), especially during the summer. From cars, people yelling, and an outdoor event space in the empty lot directly across the street (they rent out the space to groups that play loud music). This is the loudest building I have ever lived in and I have lived on major streets in Brooklyn.

Do not be fooled by the glossy exterior. I have lived in older, better maintained buildings, that were more affordable and provided far better overall living experiences.

New build with many of the associated problems
Former Tenant
Pros:
- no pests when i lived there
- good location
- spacious
- laundry in building
Cons:
- paper thin walls and floors
- heat did not work during the winter, was hard to coordinate with maintenance.
- AC unit would blast neighbors' weed smoke into my apartment
Advice to owner:
Streamline communications with tenants. I had to follow up constantly to get things fixed.
