Good on the outside, rotten on the inside.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great size for the price
Cons:
Everything in the apartment was constantly breaking. For months, the light in my kitchen didn't work and the landlord would not send an electrician to fix it. The walls are hollow, so you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, and every step they take above you. There was an infestation of roaches and mice in the building because the trash was left outside in an alleyway for days and weeks at a time, not in rat-proof cans, just sitting out in bins and bags. When you'd call for pest control, all they would do is spray a little, never try and fill in the holes. The boiler was old, and going out constantly during the winter. The building behind us would throw ragers every weekend until 3 or 4 in the morning. The cheap windows were not insulated enough to keep any of the sound out, so it was like you were at the party too, but you were sitting in your apartment.
Advice to owner:
Update your infrastructure and pay for pest mitigation. Be responsive to tenant issues. Update your maintenance requests so they can be put in online. So many phone calls never went acknowledged
