Pest problems and cheap management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location was nice
Cons:
We had a rat problem, no regular exterminator service only once the problem is already there and bad. The landlord was very cheap and would fix all problems with temporary fixes meaning that the issues would come back.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive and work on prevention of the issues that happen frequently

Was cheap, is spacious
Former Tenant
Pros:
High ceilings, spacious, prewar flourishes. Been here for 10+ years and the neighbors are something special.
Cons:
Roaches pretty much since we got here. Bastards have never addressed it properly. Had a nightmare scenario with bed bugs early on and management was antagonistic every step of the way.
Live in porter, no super. Few years ago multiple female tenants mailed to everyone details that he had harassed them. I know one of the accusers and its reliable to me. He went door to door afterwards with a weird letter that called everyone a liar. Anyway, hes still here…
Advice to owner:
Get it together

Nice Neighbors, crappy management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighbors, size of apartment, rental stabilized
Cons:
Building is dirty and infested. Takes a long time to get repairs resolved and they do a sloppy job at best.
Advice to owner:
Clean it better and exterminate

Quiet old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, spacious, friendly neighbors
Cons:
Needs a lot of work.
Advice to owner:
Fix issues when they arise
