Terrible Property Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The area and the in unit washer and drier
Cons:
Everything is old and falling apart and the super is incapable of fixing things. The boiler constantly breaks down and the super doesn't know how to fix it. Also the walls are paper thin and the garage chutes in the garbage rooms doesn't work so the garbage piles up.
Advice to owner:
Don't be a slumlord- hire competent people who aren't related to you

Many health code & fire violations
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing is good
Cons:
There are numerous fire code violations at building 309 east 19 street 11226.
Unfortunately, numerous tenants have filed complaints against building 309 E 19 street in regards to the inhumane conditions but nothing has been resolved.
The building permit for construction has expired many months ago and the garbage in the back of our building is festering, as it has been there for many months. It is causing a multitude of issues. Roaches 2. Mice 3. Dust and who knows what else
It has also been rumored that a cat fell down there and the people throwing garbage from the apartment renovations out the window on top of this cat.
The garbage in the back of the building is not only causing so many issues but it is also blocking the fire escape in the back of the building which is a necessity in case of a fire. There will be no way for tenants to escape, especially the elderly tenants in the building. The garbage is piled very high that it is blocking the fire escape nor is there any space to walk. Please look in to this building & file a fine against the building manager.
Advice to owner:
Have some integrity

Nice Apartments... Meh Building...
Former Tenant
Pros:
The newer units in the building have nice upgrades so when you are inside your apartment it feels good and comfortable. Recent super has been good. Attentive and decent job of trash take out. Neighbors in building are friendly and pleasant.
Cons:
... the rest of the building can be better. The hallways and lobby feel old and outdated. A fresh coat of paint would do a great job of brightening the building. Still waiting on the laundry room that was promised upon moving in. Neutral on owner. A lot of noise and activity at neighboring buildings over last 2 years.
Advice to owner:
The lobby is a huge, maybe incorporating a bike rake for tenants would be helpful. Also partnering with Amazon for lockers would be great amenity. More focus on the building would be great.
