Living nightmare
Pros
I wish I could find something kind to say, I really do. But after living here for 20 years, the conditions have only gotten worse, which I didn’t think was possible.
Cons
Oh where do I begin? Since I’ve lived here there have been two superintendents. I thought the first one was bad until the second one came in. If you want repairs done? Good luck. Imagine living somewhere that the bathroom is always leaking, walls are always mildly, and roaches are in abundance. You try to get the superintendent to make repairs and he blows you off. If you’re lucky to get him to do some work it’s done haphazardly and is never completed. If you try to speak with the landlord/property managers they hang up on you, ignore your calls, and are downright disrespectful. What should a person do if every Avenue they true to use to get help results in a dead end? The next question someone might ask is “why don’t you just move?” Well this is NYC and it’s not so easy to move when a 1bedroom isn’t under almost $2k. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and I’m grateful for the lower rent, but lower rent shouldn’t equal subpar living conditions.
Advice to the owners
Listen to and care about your tenants. Hire new Superintendents who listen and care. Renovate the building, renovate the apartments. Do better. Please. We are more than just money to put in your pockets. We are human.
