Nightmare family owned building where it’s “their house, their rules”
Former Tenant
Pros:
Large sunny apt that occupies the whole floor! Gas stove and large kitchen as well as ample living space in each room. Only three units in building. Newly renovated (but without permits)…
Cons:
Since it is family owned they come whenever they want and call at all hours. They play the “ we are family here “ card but only reason with you once you call 311. They openly admitted to wanting to skirt the law after I reported my sinking floor, unresolved mold, and illegal construction. I was regularly harassed and screamed at - these people are pros at gaslighting (and the super is incredibly sexist).

Its clear this owner has no understanding of NYC housing law and has no intention to learn. This was a 12 month nightmare.
Advice to owner:
Retire.
