OK - not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
5 minute walk to Ft. Hamilton Pkwy F/G train; relatively large rooms; in-unit laundry; relatively easy street parking; short walks to Prospect Park and Greenwood Cemetery; 5 minute walk to grocery store, very nice restaurants, a little farther to hardware store and PPW shopping street; the landlords kept the exterior reasonably clean; other tenants were great and became friends.
Cons:
Shoddily built buildings - cheap windows, doors, handles, fixtures, concrete on small outdoor space was crumbling, old appliances, maintenance not kept up (they respond when something goes wrong but you need to pester them); it took me over three months of strongly pestering the landlord and Corcoran Real Estate (landlord’s agent) to get my security deposit back - I strongly suggest telling them you won’t give them security and last month rent - a fellow tenant did that. I had ants on the kitchen despite keeping it very clean. I paid to have the apartment cleaned when I moved in because the kitchen was filthy - despite Corcoran and the landlords assuring me it would be cleaned and paying Corcoran a hefty fee for the “right” to rent the property.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenants; maintain the building proactively.
