Beautiful Building with horrible pest problems

Pros:
The architecture was beautiful. Quiet neighborhood.
Cons:
The roach problem was out of control. Would frequently come home to dead roaches in front of my door and would find them in the apartment. I never truly felt clean living there.
Advice to owner:
More needs to be done about the pest issues.

Beautiful pre-war building driven that has gone to seed

Pros:
Beautiful apartment layouts and design, parquet floors, good sunlight, spacious, although many units short on closet space.
Cons:
Vermin and bedbug history. Constant elevator breakdown. Basement in decrepit condition. Building has multiple violations with Department of Buildings, over $!2,500 in fines. Landlord failed to show for a DOB hearing and got another fine plus rescheduled hearing. Building has had scaffolding, a shed and netting up since October 2021. Elevator in terrible condition. No heat during May or October. Lies on rent histories. Has made many units market rate. Does bare minimum, cheap renovations. Very poor repair history. Many units have had floods or chronic leaks and broken pipes. Many units in extremely poor condition.
