Good for a Starter Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
They've updated the call box which is convenient. The apartments are decently spacious for something that is on the cheaper side. Property Management is okay to speak to-- paying rent is quite simple. Train across the street, easy access and express.
Cons:
The electricity is completely funky. We have dealt with our electric oven not working, to ONE appliance being plugged in can dim the lights or make the flicker on and off. Each time we've come with a complaint to management, they kind of brush it aside or say "well it's an old building". Once our oven wouldn't be serviced properly until the wall began sparking!
Heavy smoking that's unregulated in the building. The super's family smokes cigarettes IN the main lobby. Several of our neighbors smoke and the smoke will waft into other apartments.
Very family filled building, which means that there are a ton of screaming children. There's a disregard for noise after 10PM also. We've cycled through plenty of neighbors-- upstairs, downstairs, next to us-- always has been an issue where someone is screaming, running, banging through the apartment etc. Or children will scream in the lobby. By no means were we expecting to live quietly in the city, but this has been a different kind of 'loud'.
The heat is on a timer, which is provided to 'kick on' four times a day in the winter. It'll be cold in the middle of the day during winter months.
Advice to owner:
The only advice I can really offer is to respond to tenants complaints about smoking and noise more regularly, but particularly the cigarette smoking. Some people are allergic to the chemicals in cigarettes or have poor lung capacity.

This is subpar place
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location, near subway stop, Rite aid and near major grocery stores
Cons:
Building is old and do not have enough outlet. Management is not much responsive and super is worst. Super never does any work and usually seems drunk all of the time. Also, he is racist
Advice to owner:
Please provide proper renovated units, hire a new super. Location is great, just require better management

Rent elsewhere if possible
Former Tenant
Pros:
Certain tenants have been here forever and are friendly. Close to laundromat, delis. Rite aid and small supermarket
Cons:
Super is horrible, does not fix your problems in timely manner. Heat only comes on when super thinks it cold. They do not clean the stairs or building. (Maybe only in the summer time and its not even done by the super) People smoke weed/cigarette and it penentrates into your own home. Bed Bugs everywhere!!!
Advice to owner:
Figure it out, hire a new super who can handle this job, and doesn't have a job of his own.

Don’t live in here if you want to sleep at night.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, lots of grocery stores nearby, safe neighborhood. It’s a Beautiful old apartment. There’s also a park nearby. Not to mention how close the train station is.
Cons:
The rooms that face the fort Hamilton parkway are way too noisy. I couldn’t sleep many nights simply because car, motorcycle, and truck noise. And I’m not even sensitive...
Advice to owner:
Invest in the building so people can sleep at night. This building needs noise insulation.
