Could be nice if they tried
Former Tenant
Pros:
Proximity to everything the neighborhood has to offer. It’s a nice sized apartment and rent stabilized is a plus.
Cons:
The landlord Laura is rude. She only responds to inquiries when she feels like it. The doorbell system is extremely antiquated. The heat is extremely weak and repairs are shitty and only intermittently fix the problem. Supposedly an exterminator is supposed to come the 1st of every month but they only knock on my door every few months. Whole staff is full of it.
Advice to owner:
What advice would I give her that she would take..

Cleanliness could be better
Former Tenant
Pros:
Fairly quiet neighborhood, and the building is in close proximity to the train station, the water, and some great restaurants
Cons:
Cleaning of the building is often inconsistent; the garbage area is often a mess. Periodically, there are roach issues. In the winter the heating is inconsistent, and can turn on and off at obscure times during the day.

Worse Experience Ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighbors were nice, street was quiet
Cons:
Laura (owner I believe) & Christian (property manager) made our experience a miserable one. We stayed maybe 5 months until we broke our lease and were forced to move back with in-laws. The final straw was when a waterbug crawled into my wife’s hair while she was on the couch with our kid. Centipedes were out of control, I distinctly remember killing 13 in a span of 36-48 hours. There was no safe space for my daughter who was 1 at the time. The heat was intermittent which really sucks on a cold night in March. Any repairs were done slowly and by terrible contractors, except for the window guy who was really nice and helpful. All in all, terrible place to live, that building needs to be knocked down and the management deserves a lawsuit.
Advice to owner:
Stop being money-grubbing thieves who have not an ounce of care in your hearts. Learn to be timely with the issues of tenants and for godsakes get rid of pests. No one deserves to live in squalor.

Building has declined
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only pro to this building is its location. It is very convenient to anything you may need. You can easily walk up to the avenue and find whatever you may need (shops, supermarkets, restaurants). Close to public transportation and the highway as well.
Cons:
Management team is horrible! Poor response time and tend to deflect any issues you bring to them. This building has steadily declined in the years we have lived here. The building is minimally maintained. Garbage area is constantly full, messy and blocked with bags, garbage and furniture. The lobby tends to be littered with garbage and has a door system that does not work properly. The laundry room is dusty with machines covered in dirt. The washing machines smell of mildew and the dryers are always filled with lint. The apartments are “renovated” with a quick paint job and band aids to cover up other issues.
Advice to owner:
Take the time to properly address issues within your property. Tenants pay good money to live here and you look to do as little as possible to fix a situation. Most issues brought to your attention go unresolved.
