Nice, clean, but watch your packages
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean
Neat
Laundry in basement ($2 per machine... 4 washers and dryers)
Cons:
Packages constantly get stolen

Good until there are issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is in close proximity to markets, pharmacies, the park, etc.
Cons:
Water pressure is very low. Owner lacks an immediate response; typically have to speak to him multiple times across a long period to get anything done and he will try to gaslight you into thinking things aren’t wrong. You can hear neighbors clearly if they speak slightly loud so walls are very thin.
Advice to owner:
Be more proactive when issues arise.

Wouldn't live here again
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was affordable at a time when I didn't make much money.
Cons:
My neighbor was a hoarder and had a cockroach infestation that spilled over into my apartment. The super didn't do anything and the owner was a bit more responsive, but it took a while to resolve. When I moved out, the owner didn't return my security deposit even though I left the apartment in excellent condition. I called him to request the deposit and he only returned part of it because he said he needed to paint the apartment. This is illegal and I tried to fight him over it, but eventually let it go. He was very rude about it and I would never rent from him again.
Advice to owner:
Don't steal from your tenants

Disappointing in many ways
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice location I guess and looks fine at first glance. Good closet space
Cons:
Landlord and super are pretty unresponsive. Left my window broken during a nor'easter. I told the super about a bug problem for 2 weeks and when he finally answered he told me to wait a few days. I told him I wanted someone sooner and he didn't respond to me until I texted him again after the exterminator never showed up and he told me that since I wanted him sooner he sent him here a day earlier than he said but never told me so I wasn't home. Oh and there's a crazy neighbor that hears noises all the time and complains.
Advice to owner:
Clean up the building and get better. Overpriced for quality

Beautiful building / great landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Landlord is a really great person. I’ve lived in NYC for a long time and he’s the best landlord I’ve ever had. Any problems—he takes care of immediately. Super is a terrific guy too.
Cons:
Some bugs, but hey, it’s New York. Landlord always takes care of it if there is an issue.

Lovely quiet apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very spacious, clean apartments with a historical charm. Warm during winter, clean and cheap laundry in the basement, elevator, quiet neighbors. The super (on site) and landlord are very helpful, friendly and responsive. The location is great: 7 minutes walk to metro and 24/7 gym, 3 minutes to FoodTown grocery, Starbucks and lots of pretty cafes and restaurants around, 10 min walk to the stunning embankment with the Verrazano bridge view. Many playgrounds for running and exercising. Pet-friendly! Also Christmas decorations make you feel at home.
Cons:
1hr commute to the most downtown places, however it’s twice shorter if you drive a car. We constantly had a cockroach problem I think due to the built-in garbage chute however management always tried to help. The water pressure is low on the upper floors. No dishwasher. The flooring needs to be updated.
