Noisy. Filthy. Bugs. Marijuana. Poor security. Bad landlord and management.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing at all.
Cons:
Leasing:
Exorbitant rental application fee $250 per applicant. Space on the application where fee should be stated is blank. Lease presented only after fee is paid. Punitive lease terms. Move-in requirements and house-rules communicated only after lease-signing.
Outside building:
High volume and non-stop traffic on Ocean Ave. Constant street noise. Siren vehicles day and night. Trash and poop often in front of building. Not much cleaning from maintenance company. No doorman. Criminals frequently try to sneak into building.
Inside building:
Common areas are usually filthy. Basement was infested with bugs for months. Residents leave trash around. Parents dump diapers into common trash bins that are emptied once in weeks. Poorly maintained elevator, buttons often don't work, loud thud from doors closing, heard from inside apartment day and night.
Apartment:
A problem of constant noise and vibration started soon after move-in. Apartment is on the 8th floor (top floor, PH level). Problem is from ventilation systems on the roof, situated right above the apartment. Repeatedly reported to landlord and management company, to no avail. The high-pitch noise hurts your ears and gives you a headache, prevents you from sleeping. Vibration comes through the walls and floor.
Neighbors smoke marijuana daily and are noisy. Some of them are on condo board. Marijuana fume constantly invades apartment and permeates throughout the building.
Cheap appliances.

Nice place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful renovated building.
Cons:
Could not get access to the gym and the system for buzzing visitors and delivery people into the apartment was confusing. Not very responsive management. Landlord falsely retained $250 from the security deposit despite never providing evidence of damages; we reported him to the Attorney General but that did nothing.
