Management Unresponsive / Noise HORRIFIC / Don't Respond to Maintenance Issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's brand new, but they spared a LOT of expenses on insulation. The elevator is great -- when it works. I used to be happy with the community laundry room until both dryers broke and only one washing machine remains.
Cons:
* Two washer/dryers for 12 units -- broken often and you don't know they're broken until you waste your money and your clothes come out more dirty when they went in because the machines don't drain well or spin. Bonus is the dryers also don't work, so you have sopping wet AND dirty clothes, plus you spent $10 and 4 hours of your life that you'll never get back. Management encourages tenants to use the portal to put in maintenance requests. I've put in approximately 5 requests since May 2024. It's not August. Three months and nada. Management "claims" they've sent someone out...but come on, three months and no improvement? Ridiculous.
* Noise from Metropolitan is horrific -- the building literally vibrates because of the trucks speeding down the road. People screech down the road 24/7. The potholes make the sounds even louder. Oh, Alligator Lounge is next door. They have a heavily used patio and people are out until 4am every evening.
* Management is terrible and cheap -- things are always broken and they don't care
* The apartments, while new, were done sloppily. The windows don't seal properly and it's hot in the summer (average 85 degrees) and freezing in the winter (average mid-50s). In February, using minimal heat, my bill was $300. Average ins summer is $150 -- and again, that's using little A/C.
* The trash guy comes a few times a week, but he stores the trash in the elevator, so if you want to take it, you're sharing the space with trash; the cleaning products they use STINK and are full of chemicals
* They refuse to replace the door handle on the front door, so there are two holes in the glass
* The rug in the foyer smells and looks like death; someone literally puked on it, dogs pee on it and they will never replace it because they. are. so. cheap.
* Did I mention management is terrible? DO NOT MOVE HERE. Don't believe me? Look at turnover on Streeteasy (no one stays more than a year!)
Advice to owner:
1.) Respond to people 2.) Act on feedback/requests 3.) Spend money on making these apartments livable 4.) Don't be jerks.
