AVOID AT ALL COSTS (if you enjoy your health/sanity)
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, close by to parks, the Open Source Gallery is literally your next door neighbor, the roof deck was incredible while it lasted, and the water pressure was great.
Cons:
Roaches, rats/mice, and DOB confirmed black mold galore. Floors are slanted significantly. Heat is unreliable. Landlord refuses to acknowledge vital repair needs even in the case of emergency (Sewage floods, electrical issues, door locks jamming, etc), chooses to threaten to evict people because "he doesn't like their vibe". Landlord harasses strangers out his window, is convinced the entire neighborhood is out to get him, and sends his "associates" to carry out messages even after order of protections were placed. He doesn't have a super or repair person on regular call and when issues come up he sends in someone unlicensed and unqualified for the repairs so they never truly got fixed (our bathroom had constant issues) We left after cops got involved when other tenants were assaulted. He refused to give us personal belongings back from the shared roof deck and essentially stole over $2000 worth of things in doing so. Electric bills were so ridiculously high we began to look into the potential of utility theft.
Advice to owner:
knock it down.
