Pros:
Rent controlled I GUESS
Cons:
PEST (rodents AND roaches!) Everything in these buildings are old, cheap materials. Some rooms have poor quality, no insulations in the walls (1/3 rooms have little insulation for keeping room temperature) Filthy hallways Random strangers coming in and out of buildings Landlords want to KNOW EVERYTHING IN BANK STATEMENTS/BANK ACCOUNTS. I’m sure this is illegal somehow but having a landlord CONSTANTLY MONITORING YOUR MONEY MAKES IT VERY HARD FOR ANYONE TO SAVE AND MOVE OUT.
Advice to owner:
Literally tare down these buildings and remodels renovate them. You take way too much of low-income families money, monitoring their EVERY FINANCIAL MOVE to NOT make changes to these disgusting, pest filled, “homes” you call apartments
