Nice apartment, too expensive

Pros:
Never seen a roach or pest Management is responsive if there is an issue Laundry and dishwasher are a plus Work out room is nice Never had an issue with neighbors. Block is generally quiet
Cons:
Packages are stolen often despite a code on the building Our rent was raised $1000 after one year The kitchen is very small No elevator Honestly just very expensive, I would stay longer if I could afford it

New build - shoddy construction - unresponsive landlord

Pros:
Clean building, great neighbors, great outdoor space and gym, lounge area and rooftops! Laundry in the building.
Cons:
It was a new construction and shoddy build - we had water damage that was never rectified, we had issues with the apartment that management was totally unresponsive to - and they attempted to withhold our entire security deposit while in violation of NYC law until we threatened them with legal action
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenants and do not withhold security deposits without inspection.

Pros:
Amenities - Gym, laundry, courtyard, bike garage Tenets are nice Every room has its own A/C and heating unit Well maintained building All apartments have a balcony
Cons:
Exterior walkways are always trashed Packages get stolen - management hasn't offered any solution to help with the problem
Advice to owner:
Management is responsive, however getting something fixed takes a lot of back-and-forth.

Good clean apartment - management is annoying

Pros:
The apartment is super clean - I’ve never seen a bug or mouse in the building. The gym is great and courtyard as well. So is the lounge.
Cons:
We have had some issues getting things fixed in the apartment. The super is extremely responsive and helpful but management is not. The emergency line is an answering service that never results in any action and we have had a long-term non emergency issue in our apartment that, despite over a dozen emails to management, has never been fixed.
Laundry is expensive!
Its also extremely overpriced for what it is. The walls are paper thin so if you live with roommates, beware of that.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive.
