Good building; unresponsive management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, new building, there’s in building laundry and gym and a bike room. There’s a package room. It’s very sleek looking, has a roof deck, central air, elevator - just a very new building
Cons:
Electricity bills can be very pricey. Sometimes up to 400 dollars per month. Sometimes packages get stolen. Even though it has in unit central air, bc everything is powered by electricity it can get expensive to run the AC or heater. Lastly Managment is very hands off - they don’t necessarily care about tenants, they’re just more interested in profit margins. They only seem to reach out when they want to tell tenants not to do something
Advice to owner:
Show your tenants, especially the ones who have been there for a while, a little more appreciation. Instead all our interactions feel more like a business interaction. For example, I was fortunate enough not to have to ask for a rent reduction for covid reasons, but I feel like if I did ask for a rent reduction they would probably be very corporate/non-flexible

Luxury building in East Williamsburg
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gym & washer/dryer in building.
Furnished patio for guest in the 4th floor.
Killer view of the city on the 12th floor (unfurnished).
Cons:
Egregious Energy Bill! The building is new and everything is electric, so prepare for your energy bill to be in the hundreds or dollars/person/month.
Trash everywhere along the street/front doors of the building.
Trash pickup between 2/3AM - if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll likely hear it.
Advice to owner:
Find ways to lower the energy bill - everyone in my floor was angry by how much we were charged.

Examples:
Lower the water heater temp by a few degrees
Replace bulbs with power efficient ones
