Disappointing at best
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge windows with great natural light. Beautiful looking apartment at a first glance. Superintendent is a wonderful person.
Cons:
Once the first glance fades away you notice the shoddy materials used in the apartment and the battered condition of things that seem like they haven’t been maintained AT ALL over the years: the floor looked like someone with spiked shoes went ice skating all over them; the beautiful ceiling to floor windows are made much less beautiful by grunge and bits of painters tape that are carelessly left on many of the panes. The insulation is HORRENDOUS - it feels like you’re sitting outside. It makes the heating system pretty useless as upstairs becomes like a furnace (the unit is installed in an upstairs closet) and downstairs pretty much never heats up. The property manager basically doesn’t exist because the man never answers his phone. We legit didn’t think he existed through a year of us trying to contact him to fix various issues in the apartment. His unresponsive DGAF attitude was honestly the worst part of our experience here - he makes handling common problems an extremely frustrating endeavor. The contractors they hire do pretty shoddy work to “fix” any issues we’ve had: broken, rotting floorboards; part of the ceiling fell down from a leak. Even contacting the owner to ask simple questions about lease terms yields no response. Worst landlord we’ve ever had the displeasure of having to deal with.
Advice to owner:
Actually BE a property manager. Perhaps…..manage? Also, literally responding AT ALL to our messages and phone calls might be nice
