A Mess Kept Deposit
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great area. Great school system. Awesome church with cute garden across the street. We still love Park Slope but had to move elsewhere.
Cons:
Sketchy landlord. Place was an absolute disaster when we moved in. Trash, garbage, gross space left by prior tenant and not touched by landlord. The master bathroom shower floor is slanted away from drain. So whenever you shower it leaves a 3inch pool of cold water in the shower floor that can’t reach the drain. Promised a washer/dryer in basement but it did not function. When we moved in here was 4inches of sitting water and the washer dryer unit smelled like mold the entire time we lived there. Multiple repairmen “inspected” washer dryer, but never replaced. Forced us to do laundry outside the building. Landlord kept entire deposit upon move out after we followed his instructions to the letter for preparing the apartment including sparkling and painting over minor areas where we hung paintings/pictures.
Advice to owner:
Invest in your building. You might make your tenants happy and stop the revolving door of unhappy people.
