Landlords: They can be frustrating
Pros
Great building community and neighbors who connect frequently for any issues that arise or if you need minor things like someone grabbing your mail when out of town. New laundry room, a little pricey but way more efficient and works well.
Cons
Landlords don’t always respond and can be unprofessional. Landlords can be frustrating to deal with, so have to know when to pick your battles. Package theft ever so often but mostly under control.
Move Here At Your Own Risk
Pros
- They replaced washer/dryers in basement, can pay by app or card now - Newer building - Hardwood floors - Good location (close to multiple L stops/Cooper Park) - Tenant Association is pretty active, and neighbors do look out for each other
Cons
- Tenants have organized and withheld rent each of the last 2 years due to management negligence. Other tenants experienced issues such as bad heat in the winter, illegal subletting, no smoke detectors, no ventilation, repeated package theft. It is up to the tenant to make sure their apartment is up to code. - Management does not maintain roofdeck, it has great potential though. - No operational security cameras in lobby/entrance Management is very hands-off with this building. Move here for the location, because there isn't much else.
Advice to the owners
Care about your tenants and their units a bit more actively, or they will keep organizing
