Great BedStuy Building

Super is great and responsive, building is clean, nice amenities including laundry room, gym and roofdeck
Cons:
Close to Fulton Street so can get noisy, walls are thin so if neighbors are being loud you will hear it

Lived here for a couple of years, but thinking of moving out
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building super does an excellent job maintaining the building. Located on a quite street, close to the C train
Cons:
Small apartment with very little storage Not energy efficient at all, the electricity bills range from $150 -$230 per month for a 2 person household operating a energy efficient lifestyle. No heating in the building during the winter even though there're AC units in the common area.
Advice to owner:
Cover more electricity bills by lowering the rent

Do not live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is well furnished. It has a laundry room and overall, it "looks" nice but that's about it.
Cons:
I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the coldest apartment you'll ever live in. During the winter months, due to how poorly insulated the apartment is, the apartment is freezing cold. The floors are so cold I would have to wear wool socks and my feet would still be cold after a few hours. During the colder months of the winter, I could even see the condensation from my breath in the apartment if the heater was not turned on. Electricity bill was ridiculous too due to how energy inefficient the wall units were. During the winter months, the bill for electricity would come out to over $400. No matter how nice the apartment appears, it's just not worth it. Even with the heater turned on, the apartment is STILL cold but live-able. This is the main con of living here but there are more. When it rains, the building has leaks everywhere so you would see water puddles in the lobby.
Advice to owner:
Completely renovate the building

Management is the absolute worst
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is nice and works really hard to make tenant feel comfortable.
Cons:
Management consistently ignores requests to fix damages in several apartments stemming from water leaks whenever it rains. You might as well live outside since it rains in your house as well from all the ceiling leaks. Packages keep disappearing too. Rent discrepancies in similar units.
Advice to owner:
People are fed up!
