Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

100 Willoughby Street offers a clean, well-maintained luxury living experience with highly responsive management and friendly staff who enhance safety and convenience. Its prime Brooklyn location near multiple subway lines adds to its appeal. Tenants praise quick maintenance and effective pest control, with numerous amenities available, though some have noted fees for gym use and event spaces. Common challenges include frequent elevator outages, occasional street noise, a dog park that requires better upkeep, and a transient community presence, sometimes affecting neighbor relations. Rent is considered high, with limited negotiation on renewals. Overall, it's recommended for those valuing quality management and location despite some operational drawbacks.

If you can afford it, stay here forever

Pros

The management team, by FAR, is the number one reason why this building is as wonderful as it is. The maintenance people are super responsive and accommodating to special requests like "call me first" or "do not knock". The front desk team are super friendly and helpful. The mailroom crew remembers you by name. The building is clean, quiet, well-maintained and safe because of them.

Cons

The dog park can get very filthy very quickly. Some dog owners in this building are absolutely nasty, and unfortunately there's little way of holding them accountable other than building-wide reminder emails. Otherwise, this building's only downside is the price.

Honestly a great place to live

Pros

Well-kept, friendly staff, easy trash management, no serious complaints.

Cons

Electricity bill was very high. Some noise from the street (we lived facing Willoughby on a low floor).

Any extra fees for amenities?

Yes. $50/m for gym

The lounges, playroom, terraces, bicycle storage and dog park are included in rent. The gym is $50 per month and storage cages start at $100 ish. There is general, free, bike storage in the basement but they also have a premium bike storage at street level for a fee, not sure how much though, I want to say $25-50 ish a month. The parking is operated by Icon at 387 Bridge Street, I think there's a resident discount but it's basically whatever insane price icon charge.
