Horrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice building with great doormen and porters. Always clean.

Management property is negligent. They will not respond to you for any problems or needs with the apartment.
Advice to owner:
Start answering tenants calls and emails.

Great living experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Awesome place to live. Management is responsive, appliances are new and work well and building is for the most part kept clean. Great rooftop and amenities. Location is a bit out of the way of public transport, but that’s most of Greenpoint.
Cons:
Sometimes garbage piles up in trash area when not taken out enough. Otherwise very clean building.
Advice to owner:
Keep it up, 26 West is a great place to live!

Do not move here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing don’t be fooled by aesthetic this place is a nightmare
Cons:
Management company literally blames everything on tenants. Door staff are checked out. Covid response is laughable. Tons of shit happens here that is never resolved- rent disputes and all. This management company illegally overcharged several apartments and tried to quietly pretend nothing happened and is currently fighting lawsuits over it. The building being built across the street means constant noise and dust surrounding you. MANAGEMENT ALSO rented out the rooftop as a party space during PEAK COVID. idiots. Run away from any property managed by GOOSE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT.
Advice to owner:
I have nothing nice to say

New and Nice but Problematic
Former Tenant
Pros:
Relatively new
Nice design
Not much street noise in the neighborhood
Cons:
Very noisy neighbors
People make a lot of noise in the hallways that can be very loud inside your apartment (loud talking, kids screaming and crying, etc)
The apartment front doors are spring loaded and will slam very hard and very loud
Walls are very thin
Management is unreachable during Sabbath and Jewish holidays, even if you have no heat and it’s 12 degrees outside
Advice to owner:
Get someone to handle off hours emergency maintenance
Lower the tension on the front doors
Make it clear to residents that excessive noise in the hallways is unacceptable

Keep looking
Former Tenant
Pros:
New construction, location
Cons:
Owners and Management company are not responsive, lease renewal is a NIGHTMARE.

Horrible COVID-19 response.
Advice to owner:
Sell the property. You lack any empathy or genuine concern for the residents that fill your pockets.
