So how is it really?
Pros
- The building is well maintained, fairly quiet and simple. I've lived here for a bit and I haven't seen any bugs which is a relief. I like that the building is small (21 units) and that it has an Amazon locker in the lobby. That's a huge plus given that there's no mailroom. - The super is responsive for the most part. I had a small issue when I first moved in where he didn't respond and the lack of response ended up costing me some money, but besides that issue, I haven't had another. Also, I haven't needed anything yet so I'm not sure on response time but so far he's been good. - There's enough split units to cover the whole space. Even the bathroom has a vent for heat which is really nice. - The neighborhood is lovely and pretty quiet. I used to live on a really noisy and busy street. I'm thankful for the quietness.
Cons
This is a no frills building that was built in 2016. I lived in a new building with all the frills and amenities so keep that in mind while reading my review. - The agents and the super are not in good communication. One agent in particular (Joey) will make promises the building can't/won't commit to so don't bother believing him. - The walls are thin and I can hear my neighbor's (that I share a wall with) WHOLE conversation, word for word. The insulation isn't that great when it comes to sound. If I can hear them, that means they can hear me and I hate that. I can literally here my neighbors' kid yelling as I'm typing this. I will for sure need to get sound proof insulation because I can't live like this. - The water pressure on a scale of 1-10, I'd say is an 8. Each of the apartments has it's own boiler which means hot water is not included and it's added to your electric bill. The whole apartment is electric. The water gets hot but not hot hot. It's unlikely you'll get burnt from the water. I wish it was a bit hotter to get a good steam. - There's not enough closet space IMO. 1 proper closet for 2 bedrooms isn't it. There's another larger closet but one more closet would have been nice. - I hate that the washer/dryer takes coins. Who's carrying cash these days?! Very inconvient. I'm used to using an app to pay for my laundry. I wish they'd switch to a more modern system that doesn't rely on cash money like we're in 2005! They also charge you an extra $0.25 if you want to wash your clothes in warm water, and $0.50 if you want to wash in hot water. 😂 What?! LOL. - There's no sense of community. I wish there was an indoor common space for people to gather. (Remember I came from a building with all the amenities)
