Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

420 Tompkins Avenue in Brooklyn is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained amenities like a gym and laundry, and strong water pressure. Large, sunlit units with balconies and good design appeal to tenants. However, renters note concerns about management's responsiveness, package thefts, and neighborhood safety issues including noise from nearby bars and occasional break-ins. While neighbors are generally respectful, some find the location noisy and the walk to the subway sketchy at night. Security improvements, such as better front door measures and soundproofing, are frequently recommended to enhance resident comfort and safety.

A nice place to live

Pros

Location, cleanliness, amenities

Cons

Could get loud depending on activities going on at Tompkins Ave

Former tenant·11 months ago

great neighborhood, ok management

Pros

Large sized bedrooms, great daylight/sunlights, washing machines/dryers were regularly cleaned/maintained.

Cons

Living room is miniscule. No solution when the building was repeatedly vandalized and packages constantly stolen by outsiders. Electricity bill unreasonably high throughout the year.
