Favorite Apt So Far
Former Tenant
Pros:
This is my 3rd apartment in the last 6 years and it's my favorite by far. I have lived here for 2 years so far, and resigned for another 2. My lease is rent stabilized so the rate is really good for NY standards. The super and porter are incredibly kind and helpful, and the building is always mopped and cleaned. Garbage is fine (trash chute) until it has to be put out on the block, but for a large complex on a tiny street it's understandable. We have been alerted of recent mice issues, but the exterminator has been on top of preventing it and I haven't had any in my unit. The sunlight is great, the windows are amazing, and the central AC and dishwasher is perfect. The elevator, private parking, bike room, laundry room, and gym are also great to have.
Cons:
I really don't have many cons! maybe try and figure out the trash smell once it's outside? There's sometimes an issue with noise from neighbors and outside, but I know that that's just what it's like to live in a building in a fun neighborhood. Also the laundry room can get kinda messy and the machines break, but that's not a deal breaker. My unit had a random ceiling leak from one of the patios above it, and it ruined a new TV. Thankfully the landlords were great and helped ease the burden of cost in getting a new one.
Advice to owner:
Maybe find a solution for the trash in the front of the building!

Expensive but Satisfying Sublease
Former Tenant
Pros:
Has a gym, a rooftop to access on both buildings owned by management, laundromat in the building, and other amenities.
Cons:
Too expensive for one person to live in, and a great reminder how NYC is more expensive to live in than San Francisco, California. $2,400 and then an increase after a year? Unfathomable.
