Rip off but decent enough
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amenities, doorman, nice units
Cons:
Electrons high, laundry is expensive, amenities are extra charge
9 months ago
Good experience here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well maintained generally quiet building
Cons:
Amenities not worth the cost when many don’t work
10 months ago
A great place to call home
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful, clean, amazing amenities, comfortable kitchens. Great water pressure. Big and beautiful windows.
Cons:
It’s very expensive to rent the amenities. Sometimes the doorman doesn’t pay attention to who enters the building.
Advice to owner:
Reduce the price of the amenities so they can be actually used.

“Luxury” Building ?
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful lobby, great amenities , great appliances and fixtures in apartment
Cons:
Understaffed , doormen don’t check people in, neighbors don’t pick up after the pets , turned big chunk of units into affordable housing during pandemic for tax break.
Advice to owner:
Hire more people for the front desk

Not what you would expect from a luxury building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Staff are wonderful
Looks great on the outside
Amenities are great if they were open
Cons:
Fire alarm constantly goes off- no vent above cooker
Can’t access mail in a timely manner because the management doesn’t staff enough people
Smells come through the vent as there is no filtration
You can only fill the bath 1/4 way with hot water as they have water tanks too small to fill the bath !!!
Advice to owner:
Upgrade the water tanks please!

Great first apartment in NYC
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is brand new and very comfortable! Lived here with a roommate in a very spacious 2-bedroom 2-bathroom with tons of natural light! The roof of the building is incredible. Everything was always clean and orderly and all maintenance requests were answered same day.
Cons:
The property management firm has very odd hours and is sometimes quite unresponsive, especially when it comes to amenity-related matter. Amenities are a bit of a scam sometimes as well - the cinema room is never available and the sauna is almost always closed. Packages also took forever to be processed sometimes. The area is kind of odd - it's a good 10-15 min walk to anything enjoyable.

Not a bad place overall
Former Tenant
Pros:
Pretty clean building, nice finishes, cute common areas.
Cons:
Door man does not prevent people from waltzing in, neighbors are inconsiderate, noise carries like crazy, management is only attentive and responsive when they want money from you. Most of the kitchen sinks leak, construction is pretty shoddy low key.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive when your tenants reach out to you especially if they express they are experiencing hardship

Lived here for a year, wanted to get out of lease early
Former Tenant
Pros:
Alot of amenities
Cons:
Management sucks and is rude, they do not answer to anything on time and then hit you with late fees for no reason
Advice to owner:
Do better

Great Building, TERRIBLE Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
This building is beautiful. Gorgeous units, phenomenal amenities. The rooftop is perhaps the best in Brooklyn. There is TONS of common space so you can relax outside or have a private working space within the safety of the property.
Cons:
Almost every other aspect of this building besides the looks is lacking. Goose Management is awful to deal with. They NEVER pick up their phone, and will take weeks to respond to an email. I did not receive my security deposit until over TWO months past my move-out date which was completely unacceptable. Aside from that, the security on the premises is abysmal. We experienced multiple break-ins from outside individuals who attempted to unlock occupied units on more than one occasion, and management promised that they would increase security and ensure that there were always two front door staff at all times. Unsurprisingly, they did not deliver on these promises, and the front is often left unattended. The real icing on the cake for me, and what made me glad to be leaving this place, was when I gave notice I would not be renewing my lease, and that SAME DAY, a broker and four prospective tenants unlocked and entered my unit with no warning for a tour. This shows that the building gives ZERO regard for your personal safety and security, and will happily give out your key to anyone who asks for it. This was truly appalling and I was only met with attitude and excuses from both the broker and building management about the situation. I know Rheingold looks shiny on the outside, but it is truly a nightmare. Forgot to add also that walls are PAPER thin and you will hear every single word spoken and noise that your neighbors make. Good luck!
Advice to owner:
Just read everything I wrote above. Pay your building staff more and hire more front door staff so that they are not exhausted and overworked and quit after a month.

Kinda crazy with a lot of tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are spacious, and seem pretty nice. The roof amenity when not overcrowded is super nice. The gym has some nice touches (e.g., treadmill desks). All of the front desk staff were amazing!
Cons:
Management is slow to respond and nickels and dimes you for everything. The other tenants can be pretty disrespectful (dog poop in the halls and stairways), inviting huge parties to the roof, leaving trash on the roof.
Advice to owner:
Try to meet people half way, and treat your door staff with the utmost respect, they put up with a lot.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
Former Tenant
Pros:
The cleaning staff are nice people.
Cons:
This building is the worst I’ve ever lived in with all the drug use and cigarettes constantly being smoked inside. But not only do I have to deal with that on a daily basis. I have to deal with a man who has been banned from the building constantly being around drunk and harassing me and threatening me. Management did nothing at all and does nothing at all. So no security in the building at all. And then to make matters worse someone on the fifth floor apartment facing Forrest street people were throwing things lit on fire at residents walking on the sidewalk. It almost hit me and came extremely close to another woman who was crying after the incident walking her dog as well. My car has been keyed and vandalized in the garage, and management did nothing. Did not care in the least. I can say this has been the worst experience as a tenant I’ve ever had my whole life of renting. I’ve never had things lit on fire thrown at me and nothing be done about it after. I’m horrified here.
Advice to owner:
Sell the building to people who can handle it.

Great building, management doesn't care
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building itself is great - good location (convenient to the J, M, and L trains), decent space in apartments, really nice bathrooms, and all very new. If you pay extra for amenities, there's a good gym, sauna, and wonderful roof with grills. Maintenance and building staff are very nice and helpful.
Cons:
Management simply does not care and is very restrictive about many things, such as:
- Roof / roof grills are only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day even though amenities membership must be purchased for a full year
- Management believes that compost will attract pests and refuses to consider and get more information about the free NYC compost program, event though multiple residents have requested this
- The roof top fire pit is not able to be used due to safety concerns with no information about how this might be resolved
- The entire roof was closed on 4th of July 2022 for a management-sponsored party so residents could not use the grills or roof at any other point during the day, the only option was to attend this specific event. It was not communicated that the roof would be closed for the entire day until the day off.
- Front desk/lobby and mailroom staffing is severely understaffed. In a building of 500 apartments, there is often only 1 person between the front desk and mailroom and frequently no one there during breaks. There seem to be random closures of the package room with no communication about the open/closed times.
- Technically, there are no guests or personal trainers allowed in the gym unless you specifically book through management.
Advice to owner:
Staff the front desk/mail room properly.

Communicate better with tenants.

Listen to tenant requests and complaints and actually make changes.

As You’d Expect
Former Tenant
Pros:
• Relatively clean in common areas
• Door staff always present
• Many facilities
Cons:
• Animal excrement in lobby and elevators
• Excessive noise from neighbours at night
• Hallways stink of weed and cigarette smoke

Luxury, clean building, friendly staff, but LOUD (neighbors + construction)
Former Tenant
Pros:
- The front desk staff is possibly one of the best things about the building. They're always friendly and as helpful as they can be.
- Large apartments with large windows and ample natural sunlight
- Generally the building is kept very clean by cleaning staff, however that doesn't stop irresponsible tenants from leaving their dogs' excrement in the hallways and elevators
- Lots of nice shared spaces (rooftop, lobby lounge, co-working spaces)
Cons:
- Thin shared walls; you will hear your neighbors' conversations, music, etc. and their loud dogs. We were unlucky to have neighbors who liked to blast their music/TV/movies at full volume, so be warned if you regularly work from home.
- Terrible ventilation. Strong smells from neighbors smoking inside their apartments will inevitably travel to your unit and there's nothing you can do to fix it unfortunately.
- Extremely loud construction noise for all apartments facing Montieth Street.
- Irresponsible neighbors who will neglect to clean up after their dogs in hallways, elevators, sidewalks. Watch your step.
- Expensive electricity bills due to the electric water heaters in each individual unit.
- Expensive all around - rent AND amenities. Management will find a way to charge you for everything.
- Shared laundry room- many of the machines will randomly break; again, some irresponsible neighbors will forget to pick up their laundry loads and hog the machines for hours

Great building management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The amenities, apartment deck, insulated windows, low noise levels, huge master bedrooms that fit king size beds, storage space in apartment, and the building management is very responsive. Whenever I submit a request for something to be fixed, someone is at my door within the day and everyone is super nice.
Cons:
wooden floors are scratched. Can hear everything in hallway and can smell if another apartment is cooking something or smoking (carries through vents in bathrooms).
Advice to owner:
Great management company! Appreciate their quick response and friendliness. Please don’t charge extra for amenities.

Best Place I've Lived
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amenities are crazy here. Units are beautiful. Moved into a pristine unit.
Cons:
Pricey. Charging for amenities now
Advice to owner:
At least give the basic level with the rent. It's a real turn off to be charged on top of the rent to use the gym and roof. Really?

Comfortable apartment in bushwick

Cons:
Additional fee for certain amenities

Beautiful roof but trashed
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s a nice building with a lot of amenities. When it was new it was great. Trent desk are lovely people.
Cons:
I had roaches coming out of my sink and from around my dishwasher. I was the first person to live in the apartment. The crowd was very rowdy with huge parties every weekend on the roof. Not uncommon to find puke or dog feces in halls and elevators.
Advice to owner:
Hire more people to control the crowds and secure the building.
