"Luxury Building" without the luxuries

Pros

Building is rent stabilized, large windows and large balconies, well insulated, somewhat soundproofed, nice floors, multiple elevators.

Cons

Building feels like it is not being taken care of, management is not responsive and very dismissive, super asks for cash payments to make sure you get your deposit back, many people have reported not getting their deposits back or only partial for normal wear and tear. Amenities are almost always broken.

Respond to tenants issues more directly and answer questions with full thought.

Is management responsive to the negative feedback? Any improvements made here?

Not really. Management responds to most critical maintenance issues, in my experience, and is fairly quick to respond in some way to most maintenance issues overall. When our freezer broke, they sent the handyman right away and he fixed it immediately with no recurring issues. There was a technical glitch with my amenities membership and they were appropriately responsive to that and resolved it. However, they are clearly uninteresting in changing anything that they don't see as an issue from the severe under-staffing of the lobby and package room to considering free city composting when requesting by numerous tenants. I do appreciate that they don't enforce some of the amenities rules, like no guests in the gym or max guests on the roof (the rule is something small like 4 guests per unit). I like the building and renewed my lease, but you have to know that it's a big building with a management company that doesn't care about any individual tenant and is doing only what they feel is necessary to make money.

They handle it well. We’ve had issues with laundry machines, they refund the money in some cases. But don’t expect them to fix all the machines (never happens) they still suck
