Heat/hot water not included in rent

Pros:
Building management very responsive to need for repairs, friendly staff.
Cons:
Walls are wafer thin so you can hear your neighbors’ arguments, playing music, etc., Con Ed bill is very high as heat/hot water is not included with the rent, only 2 washer/driers in laundry room that require constant repair, building is next door to noisy auto shop & loud homeowner.
Advice to owner:
Replace washer/dryers, offer to pay half the utilities bill to cover heat/hot water expense.

Pros:
Generally well-maintained building, responsive management quick to repair, nice building management staff
Cons:
Hot water and heat is not included so the Con Edison electricity bill was so high every month. Lot of street noise in front of the building.
Advice to owner:
Include heat and hot water utility with the rent
