beware of building lots of BUGS
Former Tenant
Pros:
nice neighborhood. good rent.
Cons:
the apartment has a big roaches problem! omg! i’ve never seen this many. my apt is a big studio but run down and old. 1980s kitchen and even older bathroom. a bunch of people that live here hangout in the front of the building and smoke weed. everywhere seems dirty. garbage rooms are always full. the elevator is constantly broke down. there is cat poop all over the basement.
Advice to owner:
Clean the building and get rid of the roaches problem

Terrible and dirty building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The 1 bedroom apartments are large and have big windows! There’s also an eat in kitchen.
Cons:
Pest control, garbage control, general cleanliness are completely neglected by the management. It’s impossible to get ahold of the management company.
Advice to owner:
Staff should mop the lobby at least once a week including each floor and the stairs. The elevator is never cleaned - and is filthy at all times. Garbage isn’t consistently picked up and putting cheap bins in the trash rooms would make a big difference.

Great and cheap spot
Former Tenant
Pros:
-cheap
-great neighborhood
-ALL UTILITIES INCLUDED (except cooking gas and wifi)
-rent controlled
-proximity to Manhattan
-everything you need is within 2 blocks
Cons:
-HORRENDOUS ROACH PROBLEM that has not gotten under control. Not enough routine exterminators coming. I’ve even spent $200 of my own money on this (foggers, diatomaceous earth, boric acid, boric acid tablets, peppermint oil, sticky roach traps, roach bait traps, roach bait glue) I am losing my mind. I am extremely neat and clean. This is unacceptable.
-Super will never, ever respond to you (but nice guy!)
Advice to owner:
Please for the love of god get the roach infestation under control. Also, please enforce the super to respond to tenants in need of assistance

Roach infested buildind
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great Neighborhood, easy commute to manahattan
Cons:
Apartments are noisy and the landlord does nothing about the roach problem. I have to spend moeny each month to get a pest control company in. It works to a point but they crawl under the front door, the garbage shut is packed with roaches and the building does nothing to keep them under control
Advice to owner:
get rid of the roaches

Cons:
Could be better about cleaning the building frequently

Good place to live long-term
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big elevators (we fit almost all our furniture in them when moving in+out), thick walls, lovely foliage through the windows. Great natural light and big rooms. Wonderful neighborhood where you can get just about anything within walking distance. Neighbors are polite, management is responsive. Honestly no complaints about living here.
Cons:
The electronic entrance thing never works, but using your key is just fine.
Advice to owner:
There are several people in the building who use walkers or other mobility assistance. Installing ramps alongside or on the various steps (entrance of the building, by the elevators) would be very appreciated by them AND by non-disabled residents who use laundry carts and such.

Better places around
Former Tenant
Pros:
Has an elevator
Cons:
Roaches. Management is impossible to get a hold of sometimes winder if they actually exist. Expensive for the area. Building hasn't been updated in decades except for the mailboxes.
Advice to owner:
Take some responsibility and have some respect for your residents by actually responding in a timely manner.

Cons:
Not very clean
Advice to owner:
