Left After 4 Years
Former Tenant
Pros:
HUGE, sunny apartments. Some (but not all) apartments have renovated kitchens with dishwashers. Affordable rent (and rent stabilized!), great location with easy access into Manhattan.
Cons:
We loved this apartment but after 4 years we made the hard choice to give up our huge, affordable rent stabilized apartment due to the pest situation and the horrible management. This building has a BAD roach infestation and the basement (where the garbage & laundry are located) has rats running around. When we first moved in, we felt like we found a gem - and it was for a little while. Unfortunately, within the first year, we watched the building decline due to negligence from the management. They stopped making simple repairs throughout the building and they let the roach infestation take over. It’s so bad - we even witnessed roaches coming out of electoral outlets! Towards the end, the rat infestation in the basement got out of control - it was so bad that we stopped using the laundry machines. Several other tenants also reached out to 311 to complain about the rats to no avail. Also, the building refused to do any timely repairs. There’s 100 units and two elevators, but they both regularly were out of order. At one point during our time there, only ONE elevator was in service for over a year. There were also SEVERAL incidents where the main entrance lock stopped working, which allowed anyone to come in. Packages were stolen several times because of this. Lastly, good luck contacting management. It seems like they only have one woman who works in their office and she usually takes at least a week to get back to you (if you’re lucky) and when she does, she’s not even helpful. Such a shame, this building has amazing potential but the owners just don’t care.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenants. Do better.

Not Too Bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent amenities, responsive super, good location
Cons:
Some minor pest control issues but they seem to be trying. Common areas (halls/lobby/elevators) are a bit old and beat up but generally pretty clean. Could use some TLC.

Sunnyside value apt
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big spacious apartments. Close to the subway. Super is nice. Management was responsive when I needed to go at t them about my stove.
Cons:
Garbage area could be cleaner . They need to hire an extra porter. Needs a bit of TLC.
Advice to owner:
Just put in a bit of TLC. Hire an extra person to help with garbage removal.
