I love it here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is quiet, the apartments are fairly soundproof and insulated so we almost don’t even need to use heat. There’s no draft. The super helps fix whatever we need. There’s a cleaning crew that comes daily. The doormen and package room keeps everything safe. The roof is amazing. And the area is SO quiet and lovely. On the front facing apartments, the sunlight is so good I don’t need to turn on lights until 4pm, sometimes 7pm in the summer. Every apartment contains a washer dryer. No leaks, always hot water, no bugs or mice at all. I love it.
Cons:
The gym could be a little bigger with more updated machinery. Ever since quarantine, the weights disappeared and never came back. We could use a spin bike. And some carpets are worn out/dirty. But I’m nitpicking here.
Advice to owner:
The building is well built and maintained, except maybe the carpets need updating.

Quiet and comfortable building in need of cosmetic repairs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet building, friendly neighbors, safe neighborhood, easy access to public transit, concierge staff 8am-midnight 7 days a week, on-site parking
Cons:
Poor response time from management company, public spaces outdated and in disrepair, gym has not been serviced since pre-COVID and shouldn’t be considered an amenity
Advice to owner:
Replace carpeting on each floor, repair peeling wallpaper, replace outdoor furniture, gym in need of total renovation

Astoria “luxury” building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Access to the rooftop and the lack of pests is definitely a plus. Appliances are fairly new.
Cons:
The property management company doesn’t respond at all or often. The super is super busy and often doesn’t have time to fulfill requests unless they’re urgent. The building overall is fairly dirty — specifically the areas coming off of the elevator, the elevator itself, and the gym. The owners also tried to cut all of the doorman staff and replace them with a facial recognition security system, but the tenants objected. I wish the company cared more and invested in their employees and the tenants.
Advice to owner:
Invest in your employees, the building, and tenants.
