A totally fine place in Astoria

Pros:
Relatively close to the heart of Astoria, but generally pretty quiet at night. Great price for my 1 bedroom. The Landlord is pretty helpful in general. Charming, if old.
Cons:
Packages were stolen relatively often, possibly internally, and this was never addressed. Floors aren’t particularly flat, kitchen counters are a terrible beige laminate, overall fit and finish shows the age of the apartment.
Advice to owner:
Do something about the package theft, and first apartment downstairs.

Pros:
Family friendly, close to subway, parks, restaurants, ferry.
Cons:
It’s very old building from ‘26 and is falling apart. (from walls to floors). You can’t control the heating. Girls above us on 3rd floor had bed-bugs. Landlord will never return security deposit to you.

Excellent landlord, low rent

Pros:
The landlord will definitely get things done. The building is quiet and clean. Landlord did not increase our rent in the 10 years that we were there.
Cons:
Some of the neighbors smoke weed all day. The building is really old which actually isn’t the current landlords fault it’s the older landlords fault, 
Advice to owner:
None. I wish The building had two bedrooms that we could’ve moved into!
