Great Landlord & Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The rent, the landlord is very responsive, the small apt building - not a lot of tenants so less noise/trash from neighbors, balcony
Cons:
No elevator or laundry

Amazing owner
Former Tenant
Pros:
On quiet street, super small building unit so less residents to deal with with regards to noise, cleanliness, etc. The best thing is the owner is also the super and is very very responsive. He’ll either come himself to fix something or send someone he trusts to do plumbing. Also, huge closets and balcony.
Cons:
You pay for all utilities except water I believe. I’m still unsure cause we were told no utilities are covered by the broker when we first rented it, but the owner had sent a text at one point about the water bill being high and for all tenants to check if one of us possible had a leak. But the heat I believe you do pay for since there’s a temp control box that’s in the apt., which is great and we would definitely turn it up high at times but the apt. still felt cold. I’m not sure if the apt. is just not insulated well. One other con is the tub in the bathroom has some weird stopper thing that’s linked to the switch that stops the drain and it gets clogged super easy even with a hair catcher. You have to maintain it yourself by cleaning and de-clogging the drain regularly or you will be standing in a few inches of water every shower.
Advice to owner:
Keep doing what you’re doing!
