Pray that you have quiet neighbors
Former Tenant
Pros:
We loved this place initially: renovated kitchen, sunny, great location.
Cons:
The noise levels were fine, until our nice, quiet upstairs neighbors moved out. You can hear everything. Word for word conversations, every cough, every drawer opening, every microwave beep. Every step they take sounds like an elephant above our heads. We tried everything from trying to get property management involved (they'll just send them an email) to speaking with them ourselves. A nice renovated apartment is not worth the sanity you lose. There is a pretty steady turnover rate of people moving out and we understand why now.
Advice to owner:
Make the investment in insulation next time.

Overall good experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice tenants, friendly super, overall good upkeep of building.
Cons:
Older un-renovated apartments have issues with broken appliances and holes, management doesn't reward tenant loyalty.
Advice to owner:
Listen to tenants more.

2 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Former Tenant
Pros:
- spacious and clean - lots of storage within the units (I have two huge closets in my bedroom!) - excellent super - free pest control if needed on the first of every month - safe and nice neighbors! No stealing packages - close to the subway - close to many bars, restaurants, and movie theaters - 3 blocks from the grocery store and 1 block from liquor store
Cons:
The landlord will not work with you on rent reduction. The space for price ratio is fairly good but will not take into account other units within building or neighborhood.
Advice to owner:
Work with your tenets.

Ok building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice prewar character and large apartment, close to N/W and R/M
Cons:
Public areas are not well-maintained, if you’re not in one of the new gut renovated apartments there’s a lot of stuff falling apart or poorly patched up, language barriers with some maintenance staff, inconsistent heat sometimes too hot & sometimes too cold, tap water can sometimes be brownish, card reader in laundry room out of order several times a year
Advice to owner:
Please take better care of this property
