nice neighborhood awful owner
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to the subway and plenty of things to do in the neighborhood.

Intrusive owner with a bad attitude. in the winter the heat never came on more than once or twice a day. he entered my apartment unannounced multiple times.

Frustrating landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Proximity to subway, spacious 1 bedroom
Cons:
Landlord responds to issues but doesn’t follow up. Tries to claim he fixed broken appliances but refuses to replace them when necessary. He does not do a great job at up keeping the units. My apartment wasn’t even given a fresh coat of paint and left a broken window before I moved in.
Advice to owner:
Use a professional cleaning service before new tenants move in and spend and replace broken appliances.

Apartment, building and landlord review, lived 5+ years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Half a block from the Steinway subway
Cons:
Landlord does not care about the crumbling condition of the building’s apartments including water leakage in bathrooms, water damage leading to partial roof collapse and broken power outlets / old appliances. Does not return security deposit
Advice to owner:
Please be ethical and return the security deposit that you owe back to your tenants once they leave
