Real honest review of an illegal apartment conversion
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s an okay tiny house. It was what I needed when I graduated from grad school and didn’t have a job. The apartment was not a legal apartment, the house had been illegally subdivided into 4 separate units. The Landlord lived in the main unit. I lived a squalid life here, I had nothing, but slowly built up my life and career one little foothold at a time. I learned the value of earning your living, living beneath your means, and being humble in life.
Cons:
There was no kitchen, no kitchen sink, no laundry, no living room, no bedroom door. It was literally 4 walls, one refrigerator, and one bathroom. I made it work by bringing in a toaster oven, hot plate and coffee machine. I had to do what I had to do to survive. I was embarrassed to bring over any guests. I washed my dishes in the tiny bathroom sink. It was awful, but at least I had a place to live and lay my head to sleep
Advice to owner:
Please improve the living conditions. The conditions were appalling by any standard.
