AVOID AT ALL COST!!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is mostly clean but that's about the only good thing about this building
Cons:
The landlord - father and son team. The son is ok but the father is the problem. As is often the case with old time Greek landlord in Astoria, he doesn't seem to grasp the sense of boundry and I have witnessed him making lewd and sexually inappropriate remarks towards female tenants, most of the time he does that in Greek (little does he know that I actually understand Greek) but I have seen him doing that in English which caused discomfort towards the said tenant. Also he racially discriminates tenants, his attentiveness towards white tenants and non-white tenants are fairly obvious. A friend of mine who is a broker also told me that he was fired as a leasing agent of the building because he won't comply his request to "keep black and latino folks away from the building" (which of course is illegal and as a realtor, he couldn't have done that). If you're a white folk, probably it might be ok with this building but if not, you defintiely should stay away. Also he hates inter-racial couples - the white female tenant who was harrased is married to a Latino man.
Advice to owner:
Word gets out pretty fast in this thing lately so you need to be careful.
