Basement unit did not give me depression but did worsen it

Pros

It's in a fun neighborhood, if a bit far from the station. Cheap, and has in unit washer and dryer. Spacious.

Cons

Very bad maintenance. The sink and stove were broken the very first day I entered and had to be repaired after a week. Bathroom floods multiple times during the summer due to poor connections, leading to sewage backing up. None of these issues were dealt with efficiently, taking at least several days for mechanics to be repaired. Fridge is incredibly old and broke three times in 1 year, also has mold in it. Both fire alarms broke three months in and have not been replaced still, no monoxide alarms either. Only one window AC in the kitchen that does not reach the far-most bedroom. My roommate thinks the neighbors are nice but to be honest, have not had great interactions myself. One neighbor yelled at me for suggesting that someone stole my food (it WAS thrown out by a neighbor) and another neighbor keeps meowing at me everytime I see her. Also the walls are an awful yellow that inspires nothing. I hated it the moment I stepped in and have hated it ever since.

Advice to the owners

Replace everything.
