Pros:
Huge living room and love our balcony. But then again that’s the layout for most Astoria apartments, so nothing really special here.
Cons:
Where do I begin... 2 of my friends and I lived here for a year (‘18-‘19) on the 3rd floor. Landlord does not live in the building, when we initially met him and his wife, they seemed pretty nice. But that didn’t last long. 1. Landlord had workers coming to our apartment unannounced on multiple occasions! Not OKAY! 2. Landlord is a thief! When we told him we were moving out at the end of our lease, he came over to inspect our apartment and told us everything looked fine. HOWEVER, after we’ve moved out, he decided to withhold our security deposit. He claimed that he had to spend tons of money fixing the pipes in the building around the time we first moved in, therefore it must have been us who damaged the pipes. We saw absolutely no paperwork of such fix up or any proofs, for godsake there were 3 other units there too! This is an really old building and this whole thing was just total BS. After weeks of back and forth with him we finally caved in and let him keep 1/3 of our security deposit, because we didn’t want to drag it out in court. 3. Tiny mailboxes, 4 units total, but only 3 mailboxes, most of our mails were jammed on the daily basis. 4. Door bell never worked. 5. Terrible downstairs neighbors, doubt they still live there now. ALL IN ALL, take your money else where! These ppl do not respect your privacy and would steal your money
Advice to owner:
STOP stealing from your tenants and respect their space and privacy!
