Classic Uncaring Landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice outdoor space, the deli guys are wonderful and take your packages, pretty good location.
Cons:
In the summer there was demolition one block over and the outdoor space developed a big rat problem. They tried to make a nest under the outdoor furniture and we saw and heard several scurrying around every night. It took several requests for the owner to send someone to put out traps and several more requests to get someone to take them, they were never replaced. The apartment also regularly got below 60 degrees and as low as 45 degrees during the winter. Heat and hot water are controlled by the owner. The owner refused to address the issue after repeated requests. Owner increased the rent by about 9 percent after one year and an additional 6 percent the following year.
Advice to owner:
Check in with your tenants, especially if they say something is wrong. Stop trying to squeeze as much money as you can out of every tenant and just be a person.

Landlord doesn’t care
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, deli guys take your packages, outdoor space, cool in the summer
Cons:
The landlady keeps the heat off in the winter and is completely unresponsive. Had several days where it was 45 degrees inside. We also had a huge rat problem outside and she did next to nothing. She jacks up the rent at least $150 yearly but doesn’t fix anything. Terrible owner.
