AWFUL experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Duplex. Plenty of room.
Cons:
Promises made: -private outdoor space -landlord out of state
Promises kept: NONE
Details: Listing claimed private outdoor space. Didn’t mention that landlord used it as a walk-through to get down to the basement for him and everyone that worked for him, at any time. When I complained about this I was ignored repeatedly. Landlord also claimed that he ‘rarely’ came to the property, when in fact he used the office on the second floor as an apartment. He entertained guests and played loud (terrible) music.
Advice to owner:
Find a competent property management company to oversee your building and to communicate with your tenants. You are woefully ill-equipped to do either of these things yourself.
