Beautiful big space, but beware the bed bugs and pre-war "quirks"
Former Tenant
Pros:
Right next to the 7, LIRR, and multiple bus routes. Big rooms and living spaces with beautiful windows in most units and some full grown trees and natural light. Great community with some of the best places to eat in Queens right on the same street.
Cons:
BED BUGS. During our 2 years here (2017-2019), pest control checked the unit and confirmed multiple times that bed bugs were living in the walls/floor of the entire building (it was not just our unit). Some small treatments were done to kept their numbers low, but there was no long-term treatment to any of the units/building to try to get rid of them entirely. Lobby area was always dirty with dead bugs, trash, and random objects in the corners. Our unit was right above the pub on street-level; gets REALLY loud most weekends in the nights. Pre-war building with zero sound-cushion between units; you can hear EVERYTHING from those living above you, especially if they have kids or house parties. Bathroom ceiling caved in on us during our last year here; the building is pre-war so the plumbing couldn't handle the massive water damage from the family above who apparently kept clogging the toilet and bathtub; the super at the time only did temporary fixes.
