This is one of the worst buildings you could ever live in.
Former Tenant
Pros:
There are hardly any. I’ve lived here all my life so my opinion is going to be complicated. But at least I have a first hand view of what’s it’s been like to live here for the last three decades plus.

I guess the only pro I can think of right now is that it’s close to the subway and in a great historic neighborhood, diversity and all that.
Cons:
There’s never been a good landlord in this building, with current management: Shabanson, LLC taking the cake. Tania E. is a special kind of human being. The kind that plays nice to your face but will stab you in the back. I mean the list of things I can say about her and Shabanson is endless. When, there was a serious water leak problem here some years ago, mostly due to unruly upstairs neighbors, her remedy was to tell me that instead of getting upset with them I should bake them a pie or something. That’s just one of the quotables I can quote from this insane lady. I just heard she had a tenant’s water forcefully shut off by sending her lackeys to create a huge hole in his wall to get to the pipes, for not paying his rent, during Covid. This man has cancer. I mean I can go on forever. I really can. Just do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this building as possible. Did I mention it has a history of bed bugs, that they never do anything about really. All her remedies for the building’s ills are at best a band aid. It’ll take literal years to get something fixed, if it even gets fixed at all. Wanna have some fun? Look up the building’s violations.

PS - The block I live on has always been a hotbed for crime, drugs, other nefarious things going on. It hasn’t changed in over 3 decades, I don’t see it changing any time soon. But also on the other hand, the police presence can be a bit overbearing at times. There is a “stuck” energy to this block. Things don’t feel like they’re ever going to progress here. AGAIN, THERE HAS BEEN BEDBUGS IN THIS BUILDING PLENTY OF TIMES. MY OWN APARTMENT HAS HAD THEM SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. SO DON’T BELIEVE THAT STAT. Most things that get solved in this apartment/building is because we have fixed it ourselves.
Advice to owner:
Find a new profession. Maybe find god. Be of actual service to people. Maybe it’ll make you a decent human being for once. Idk.
