Was expecting a better living based off neighborhood
Former Tenant
Pros:
The pros of this building is the quietness, no loitering in and around building, tenants come and go , no heavy traffic in building.
Cons:
The cons of the building is the superintendent, he is very lazy, lives in building but doesn’t troubleshoot issues in building when need be. Also, the old wood flooring are very loud and need a serious renovation. Walls are paper thin. Elevator is very small was a job and a half moving in, had to climb steps with bed etc because elevator is so tiny. Also, apartments don’t come with AC units in wall , you have to buy your own acs plus pay to get the brackets installed as well as a monthly fee for each AC. Don’t even know if this is legal. Lastly, management is not responsive and if so they’re very standoffish but are down your throat if you’re a tad bit on late, trying their best to evict you. I’m not done with my first year lease but I’m afraid to see the rent hike since they said my apartment is not subject to rent stabilization even tho this building is.
Advice to owner:
This is a very old building with a need for renovation, please stop pocketing off of the new tenants who are paying trip the rent to keep the building functioning. Have a little bit more protection for newer tenants especially during a pandemic.
