Paper thin floors
Former Tenant
Pros:
(This is for 10920 71st Rd. Don’t know why the system automatically changes it to 10910). Location is convenient
Cons:
The floors are old and squeaky and paper thin. You can hear your upstairs neighbors talking, basically feel like they’re your roommates. If they don’t sleep and walk around like mine, you are doomed. The hallways are dirty except the first floor. The heaters bang for my apartment and it’s been three years still not fixed.
Advice to owner:
Reinforce quiet hour clause in lease, don’t make good tenants move because of other tenants are violating the lease

Nice location, but could be better run and cleaner
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very close to the train. Very close to downtown Forest Hills
Cons:
Building is not kept clean. There's a layer of grime everywhere. Hallway floors look like they haven't been cleaned in 7 years. Elevator was recently renovated, but it's still slow as ever (why not make it a modern elevator?). Super turns off the elevator at 7 every night. If you want to do laundry at night, you have to go outside and around the side of the building to access the laundry room. There's a new gate to access the side door now, so they probably lock the gate as well (it's possible to open it from the outside if you can reach, but it's still annoying).
Advice to owner:
Clean the floors in the hallways. Allow basement access later than 7. If you must close, extend the time at least until 9p. This is New York City, not Iowa. Some of us have to work late.
