Terrible management experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location
Proximity to laundromat (on same block, same side of street)
Didn’t charge me a pet deposit
Weekly cleaning of stairwells
Cons:
Major issues with management responsiveness and ethics. Would never recommend living here
- Upon my move in nothing had been cleaned or repaired from prior tenant. Walls peeling. Extensive mold in bathroom and kitchen sink. Appliances dirty. It was Week 3 into my first month of lease by the time they got people in to fix and then they spent 5 days repairing and cleaning the apartment, 8am-5pm while I had to live there (out of boxes). Management would not pro rate or discount my rent for that month. After a month of fighting them on it they gave me $200 back (on $2100 monthly rent).
- flea infestation upon move in that I took care of myself so that it could be resolved quickly. Management would not refund what I paid. (Prior owners had pets)
- After I moved out management would not respond to my inquiries about my security deposit. I followed up with them 4-5 times over course of 3 months. I finally threatened legal action and they finally replied claiming the check “got lost in mail but they cancelled that check and reissued a new one”. I received my deposit finally after months of effort

Other issues
- Walls so thin I could hear my neighbors’ every cough and conversation whether they or I were in bedroom, living room, kitchen, you name it. I had to talk in low voice in my own apartment in a farthest corner when I wanted to ensure neighbors couldn’t hear something
- Persistent leak in ceiling during heavy rain. Ruined wall several times as their only recourse was patching over and repainting vs fixing structural issue
- Poor insulation. Also 1 inch gap between front door floor and hallway, mgmt would not adequately fix. Very drafty in winter. Expect high heating bills.
Advice to owner:
Fire your management company and use a new one. They do not care about the long term viability of your building/investment
