Avoid living here at all cost! Landlord suffers from anger management issues.
Former Tenant
Pros:
When I first move to the apartment a few years ago, everything was well-maintained, mainly because the owner, his sister and mother live here as well, which is not ideal. After his mother's passing, he stopped caring about the property - more on that later. The pro is that the building is close to the subway and local stores and restaurants.
Cons:
The owner will take your rent but will not fix issues or do any inspections. As a result, this property has had a lot of problems including rodents in the buildings; heat is always at the lowest in the winters; leaking radiators; damaged roof so rain water will come to the apartment (I am not joking); old pipes that prevent bathtub from draining; cracked wooden floors; roaches and ants inside the apartment coming from the second floor, etc. A couple of tenants decided to move out not to deal with him. Also, the landlord plays loud music every day and well after 10pm - sometimes until early morning hours - because he thinks that since he owns this building, he can get away with everything. If you move here, get ready for stressful environment and unreasonable landlord who only cares about collecting rent but not about maintaining your apartment or safety.
Advice to owner:
Learn how to communicate with tenants who pay you rent without screaming and shouting when they request you do upkeep
