Terrible Landords- Walk Away
Former Tenant
Pros:
This Ridgewood neighborhood is full of friendly neighbors and it's a vibrant area to live in. There is a laundry unit for use by all tenants.
Cons:
The landlords, Lee O'Dell and family, could care less about their tenants and the upkeep of the units. During the start of the lockdown, they sent rent renewals attempting to raise our rents (in both units) by at least $300. When we all moved in, the apartments had been gut renovated but the folks they hired did a really poor job. Closet doors weren't properly installed and came off the railing immediately. Small repairs were done by the tenants, and we saved the bigger issues to report to the landlords. For the most part, they're responsive. There are places in the walls and floors where leaking would occur during heavy rainfall. Doors aren't flush and incorrectly installed. The lights in the common hallway would go out and despite reporting it, has yet to be fixed.
Advice to owner:
A little human care goes a long way.
