Renter Beware!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Safe neighborhood. Grocery store is close by. Buses and trains are quick to get by.
Cons:
My wife moved 2 days into the place. We complained about the noise the landlord daughter makes every day late at night. After we complained, the daughter came knocking very hard on our door and cursed my wife out, saying derogatory things. The landlord daughter was high on drugs when she did this. The landlord refused to do repairs after we messaged her several times. The landlord owed me money for gas which she refused to pay claiming she had to do repairs and deducted from the gas bill; however I was given a full security deposit. When we first moved in, the landlord gave us a dirty apartment that wasn’t cleaned. We had to use one electrical outlet in the entire bedroom which the landlord refused to repair. The shower door was broken, the bedroom glass sliding door was broken also and remains broken after we moved out. The landlord daughter parties late at night, sometimes 4am and you will hear everything because the ceiling is so thin. We even offered to pay out of our pocket to fix the ceiling and it still was making noise because they wanted to take the cheaper way out of this. One of the rooms is a garage that is converted into a bedroom which still has the garage door. During the winter time, it gets very cold because they failed to fix the cold air that seeps into the apartment. This was a very bad experience renting from the landlord. I should have done my research. We even made a brand new backyard patio during Covid which we didn’t get a dime for. The landlord daughter lives upstairs and doesn’t clean up after herself. She will expect you to take out the garbage all the time. We are glad we moved out. The landlord was not helpful at all.
